How to Participate

Here are a few ways contractors can participate in Smart Irrigation Month
  • Identify and promote systems, products or services that conserve water.
  • Promote professional design, installation and management methods. Practice the Irrigation Association Turf and Landscape Irrigation Best Management Practices.
  • Start to earn your Irrigation Association Certified Irrigation Contractor certification. Apply now and start studying. Take your exam at the International Irrigation Show in the late fall.
  • Offer incentives to your employees to get their Irrigation Association Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor and Certified Irrigation Contractor certifications.
  • Develop special promotions to encourage your customers to purchase products or services that will update systems with water-efficient products, or fine-tune systems for maximum efficiency.
  • Use the Smart Irrigation month logo on your website, press releases and print collateral.
  • Sponsor an irrigation-oriented speaker or feature efficient products at a sponsor table at a regional or local irrigation or landscape contractor meeting.
  • Sponsor an IA education course and or exam at a local facility.
  • Offer your services as a speaker to homeowner associations, garden clubs and other civic groups to educate the public on professional practices and water-saving products.
  • Send a press release with general irrigation system tips to the local paper.
  • Join the Irrigation Association if you are not a current member. Stay up-to-date on industry news, practices, and receive discounts on education, certification, publications, and the annual International Irrigation Show.
